Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born to a musically inclined family on the 9th of August, 1963. She was born in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel superstar Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. and cousin of singing star Dionne Warwick. When she was a little girl, Houston began singing professionally with her church's choir. Houston sang the backing vocals for Chaka Khosn's single from 1978 Im Every Woman with her mom. Jermaine, her mother and Lou Rawls were a few of those who she sang with. The singer was also a model for Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. The quality of her work as the featured vocalist of New York funk group Material was noticed by major record companies including Arista who she signed her contract in 1982, where she continued to work for the remainder of her life with them. The year 1985 saw the debut of Whitney Houston turned out to be the best-selling debut album ever. Songs like The Most Beautiful Love of All, How Will I Know If You Give Love and the song Saving the Day and All My Love were all released off the album. These songs enabled Houston to earn 7 US top tens which were higher than even those of The Beatles. The album itself sold 3 million copies during its debut album's first year of release in the US and went on to sell 25 million worldwide winning them the first six Grammies. Whitney was her first album. Whitney, released in 1987 and featuring the popular singles Where Do Broken Hearts go? and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, built upon her previous success. But it was The Bodyguard (1996) that cemented her position as one of the best-selling albums in pop music. The film itself as well as her performance in it were not highly reviewed, the soundtrack album as well as her rendition of the Dolly Parton song I Will Always Love You topped the charts of albums and singles for months, and was sold at 44 million copies across the globe. That same year she got married to Bobby Brown who was a previous New Edition singer. She had their only daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown together in the month of March, 1993. Dana Bash also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz is an American anchorwoman for news and reporting as well as political correspondent for CNN. The anchorwoman produced a number of shows on weekends on the network, including Evans & Novak: Late Edition" and Inside Politics." She was previously employed by NBC as well as CBS. Bash is a recipient of numerous awards and honors. Elle magazine once listed her on its Women in Washington Power List. She is highly respected for her incredible skills as an anchor/reporter.
